TREATMENTS

Chemical Peels (Superficial)

Chemical peels are skin correcting treatments with visible results.

Transform your skin by improving skin tone and texture

As one ages the epidermal cell turnover slows down thereby causing the skin to become dull . This is due to the thickened top layer which in turn then causes blackheads, pigmentation and rough texture. Potential benefits of Skin Peels include enabling better penetration of your skincare products into the skin, leaving your skin hydrated, smooth and revitalised. Peels are also a critical element in the treatment of hyper-pigmentation and acne. It also optimises pigmentation and anti-ageing laser treatments, where this allows for better penetration of the light beam.

Lamelle – Superficial Chemical Peels

Using a full range of agents, Lamelle has developed peel systems that will give you anything from no peel right up to skin flaking for up to 5 days. This results in glowing healthy skin and very effective treatment of ageing, pigmentation and acne. Superficial chemical peels can also be combined with other treatments such as laser to improve results. Lamelle is formulated by Dr Bradly Wagemaker in South Africa for South African skins. He bases these formulations on the latest medical research from all over the world. Visit www.lamelle.co.za for more information regarding the products.

Frequently asked questions

Superficial Chemical Peels

How does it work?

Peels involve removing the damaged outer layers by applying the skin with a coating, revealing the younger, clearer and more radiant complexion underneath.

Chemical Peels, also known as “Lunchtime Peels” are traditionally performed on the face, hands, neck, back, shoulders and other problem areas to treat fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and skin discolouration. Chemical Peels are also effective in treating mild scarring and acne.

Who can be treated?

All skin types can be treated. Contra-indicated to pregnant and breast-feeding woman.

Will it hurt?

Anything from a slight mild tingling sensation to a more intense tingle can be expected depending on the peel chosen. Nothing unbearable or painfully discomforting.

How long will it take?

A chemical peel treatment will usually last between 30-60 minutes and provide one of the most effective methods of hydrating, evening out complexion and rejuvenating ageing skin. Peels may also soften acne scars and control acne.

How many treatments are required?

Depending on the skin concern, superficial chemical peels can be done anything from twice a month to 6 week intervals. This is best discussed in a complimentary consultation where the skin can be assessed and a treatment program suggested to suit both your time and budget. For clients with no relevant skin concerns who just want to maintain a youthful, healthy skin, every 3 to 4 months is advisable.

Is there any social downtime?

This can be catered to suit your lifestyle, with peels that have from minimal downtime to 3 to 4 days downtime.
