TREATMENTS

Lash Lift

Forget Lash Perms, we’re the Lash Lift generation.

A Lash Lift is an advancement on the old fashioned “lash-perm”. Unlike the perming rods used in the past, new specially created silicone pads lift the lashes from the root only, creating a subtle, natural looking lift, giving the illusion of length and making the eyes appear more open.

This is a great alternative for clients who aren’t prepared for the maintenance of eyelash extensions and want a long lasting alternative. The lash lift procedure lasts 6-8 weeks on natural lashes, even with routine mascara wear and facial cleansing.

This treatment has become very popular in South Africa and has been around for more than 4 years using the Dolly Lash System.

Frequently asked questions

Lash Lift

What is Lash Lift?

A Lash Lift is an advancement on the old fashioned “lash-perm”. Unlike the perming rods used in the past, new specially created silicone pads lift the lashes from the root only, creating a subtle and natural looking lift, giving the illusion of length and making the eyes appear more open.
This is a great alternative for clients who aren’t prepared for the maintenance of eyelash extensions, and want a long lasting alternative.

Can a Lash Lift be used to compliment other treatments?

Definitely.  A lash Lift is enhanced when you use an eyelash growth product, such as Rapid Lash, MD Lash Factor & Max Lash growth serum. While your lashes grow longer, the process controls straight or overly curly lashes by giving them a uniform lifted look. The lashes can also be tinted in order to achieve an even more dramatic look.

Is a Lash Lift the same as an Eyelash Perm?

No the Lash lift is a new, improved procedure, overcoming the ‘over curled’ look of its predecessor. Whilst the chemical procedure is identical to a perm, the difference is in the results. By reinventing the old fashioned perm rollers which curled back the lashes to the extent of the ‘dolly look’, the silicone pads used for the Lash Lift procedure lifts the lash from the root in either a straight or curled, upwards fashion that creates the illusion of length and results a bright eyed enhanced look.

Does the Lash Lift procedure hurt?

No the procedure is completely painless.  You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes the procedure is completely safe! The product is cream based and will not run into the eyes. There will be no lash damage if done by a qualified therapist.

How long does a Lash Lift procedure take?

The procedure takes around 30 – 45 minutes for the lash lift only and 60 minutes if combined with a tint.

How long will a Lash Lift last?

A Lash Lift can last 6-8 weeks but can vary from person to person.  There is no need for any maintenance appointments however you will need to have the process repeated every 6-8 weeks to lift the new hair growth.
There are some situations that may cause the lift to drop/weaken prematurely such as frequent swimming, use of harsh products or heat.  If you find that your lift does not last the full 2 months, you can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks of having the initial treatment, but not before.

Will I have a reaction to the Lotion?

Very few people have a reaction to the lotion but that doesn’t mean you won’t be one of them. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why you can opt to have a patch test 24 hours beforehand.  A patch test is quick and simple.  It consists of the therapist placing 2 drops of lotions behind the ear for 15 minutes. Wiping it off and waiting to see if any subsequent irritation occurs over the next 24 hours such as redness, itching or inflammation for example.

I wear contact lenses. Can I have this procedure?

Yes. However, we will ask you to remove them temporarily during the treatment as the eyes will be closed throughout.

Can I wear makeup after my Lash Lift?

Yes, but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.

How do I clean my eyes?

Gently, using mild products. Always wait 24 hours after the procedure to do this.

Can I use an Eyelash Curler?

No. There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler. But more importantly, using one may weaken and damage your lashes.
